The US has been protecting the stability of the energy market for over a year - It may want to reconsider

What's Actually Happening

International news suffers from the same sensationalism that US news does. This is a prime example of a news source that should know better, taking advantage of the rhetoric that says Trump is a Russian asset.

The United States asked Ukraine to refrain from attacking Russian oil over a year ago to keep global energy prices stabilized. 1 The headline of this article suggests that Trump just made this decision by putting his face prominently on the article, when in-fact it was the Biden administration that asked this of Ukraine. The US has been asking this for well over a year, and Zelenskyy knows this. Ukraine is in no way bound to what the US asks them to do, if they wish to de-stabilize global oil prices to get even, more power to them.

This headline is an attempt to sway readers' towards the viewpoint of the United States and Trump's suspected closeness to Putin, but fails to explain how the US is NOW protecting Putin's oil assets.
