Florida sheriff warns VIOLENT protesters ahead of nationwide rallies: 'We will kill you dead'

What's Actually Happening

Context matters, especially in headlines. This context-less headline on an article written by Madeline Sherratt serves as pure clickbait during a divisive time.

Everyone already views "the other side", whichever that may mean for you, as extreme and full of hatred. This headlines serves only to further that viewpoint by also acting as clickbait to get you to read the article. It is irresponsible and disappointing to see, as protests have always been an American staple for citizens to voice their opinions. It goes without saying, but protesting in America is 100% legal.1 Rioting on the other hand, is not.2 If law enforcement needs to protect themselves or other citizens while you are rioting, and the threat against someone else's life or well-being is at stake, law enforcement is well within their rights to stop the threat immediately, however that may be.3 In an environment where liberals view conservatives as the anti-protest party, this headline is written to tickle that part of their brains and further that viewpoint.

Unfortunately, this is another example of an irresponsible journalist and news source prioritizing sensationalism over news. We deserve better as Americans.
